Snacking on wild raspberries in Stanley Park, Vancouver |
I’ve already been back at work for one week and our vacation is starting to feel like a distant memory. Overall,
Jason and I had a wonderful two-week road trip on the west coast.
Something unfortunate happened on our last night, however. While watching the July 4th fireworks at
Dolores Park in San Francisco, we lost our backpack which contained my cell phone and camera. What a bummer! Forget the phone and the camera itself, the lost pictures is what upset me. At least our passports were not in the bag – It could have been worse!
Luckily, I’d switched memory cards halfway through the trip, so I am able to share some pictures with you. But no pictures from California, alas.
We did so much! We flew to Vancouver, British Columbia and made our way down to San Francisco, with several stops in between: Seattle, Portland, stunning central Oregon (have you heard of
Crater Lake? One word: jaw-dropping), and drove the winding roads of coastal highway 101 and route 1 to San Francisco with a short stop in wine country. If you are curious, here is our exact itinerary.

We kayaked Russian River, biked Vancouver and Portland, hiked Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, Multnomah Falls in Oregon, and the Redwood National Park in California.
Enough said – I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Have a great week in the heat!
